Recurring Problems

Difficulties can occur when students do not take certain courses in proper sequence. For example, PHL 202 Logic should be taken early in the program, and PHL 304 Ancient Philosophy should be taken before PHL 305 History of Modern Philosophy. Also, PHL 491 Seminar on Individual Philosophers or PHL 396 Seminar on Philosophical Problems should be taken after all the other courses required of majors (see above) have been completed. Many individual problems are best avoided by advisement within the Philosophy Department.
