Every Arts for Children major takes six (6) credits of core coursework intended to bridge understanding across the arts disciplines.
The Arts for Children major selects art, dance, music or theatre as a specialty area of focus for 21 credits of coursework. For a broad understanding of the arts, students take an additional 21 credits of study in the disciplines outside their chosen specialty. This furthers student understanding and experiences in art-making and aspects of art pedagogy. The deeper experiences derived through specialty coursework ensure the future leader of children will have a standards-based education in the arts.
