To provide a forum for employers and The College at Brockport Career Services staff to engage in relevant discussion regarding a wide variety of career and employment issues from outside the College. Information gathered from these discussions will contribute to the quality and impact of career programs and services for College at Brockport students.
The Advisory Board will include representatives from a wide variety of industries which employ college graduates, focusing on Western/Central New York. This board will meet at least twice each year on The College at Brockport campus. Faculty and other university staff will interact with Board members (when/where applicable) while they are on campus.
Senior Manager, Human Resources – Paychex, Inc.
Rick Amering ’94 joined the advisory board in 2014. He is the senior manager of Human Resources for the Rochester headquarters of Paychex, Inc. – a company proudly named one of the Best Places to Work in IT, a Top 125 Training organization and recognized as one of the World’s Most Ethical Companies. Rick has spent most of his 20+ year career in the human resources field. He is responsible for driving and executing strategic initiatives within the HR organization, overseeing employee engagement efforts, and managing the company’s international HR activities. He also oversees the HR aspects and workforce transition planning for all mergers and acquisitions. During Rick’s tenure at Paychex, he has managed multiple teams of employees in the areas of compensation, health & welfare benefits, retirement benefits, leave of absence, equity compensation and HRIS. He previously served on the National Center for Employee Ownership (NCEO) Board of Directors and holds a Bachelors of Science from the College at Brockport.
Talent Acquisition Specialist - Enterprise Holdings
I began my career at Enterprise in January of 2008. Like most of our employees I started entry level as a Sales Management Trainee. Throughout the years I worked my way up into management, and was promoted to my current position in July of 2012. Enterprise Holdings oversees Enterprise Rent a Car, National and Alamo. As one of 2 recruiters in our area I currently hire for many positions in all three brands. I cover all of Buffalo, as well as parts of Rochester. I thoroughly enjoy my career and the ability to share with so many people, all of the opportunities Enterprise has to offer.
Director of Talent Acquisition - Excellus BlueCross BlueShield
Brandy Bauza is the Director of Talent Acquisition for Excellus BlueCross BlueShield. She’s been working in the Human Resources (HR) field for over 18 years, 12 of which have been at Excellus. She holds a Master’s in Organizational Learning and Human Resources Development. Brandy’s HR experience includes Talent Acquisition, HR Project Management, HR Management and Organizational Learning & Development. Today, Brandy leads the development and execution of talent acquisition strategies to strengthen the organization's capabilities and ensure it has the talent to meet current and future business needs. Her team is responsible for the recruitment and employment branding of Excellus Health Plan, Inc. in all the regions they serve. Her other responsibilities include, diversity recruitment strategies and over all pipelining, process improvement and development, recruitment data tracking and reporting, presentation delivery and executive level recruitment. The overall goal of the Talent Acquisition team is to develop clear, consistent and effective recruitment processes for the company and attract top talent to Excellus Health Plan, Inc.
Manager of Talent Acquisition - Rochester Regional Health
As the Manager of Talent Acquisition for Rochester Regional Health, Kaitlyn is ultimately responsible for strategically sourcing and selecting top talent for a wide range of career opportunities for the 2nd largest employer in the Rochester, NY region. Kaitlyn and her team of twelve recruitment professionals partner deliver innovative talent acquisition solutions to leaders across Rochester Regional Health for locations in Monroe and Wayne counties. They recruit for roles within a spectrum of job categories including: Support Services, Administrative Support, Allied Health, Behavioral Health, Nursing Support, Nursing & Nurse Leadership and Management & Professional. Rochester Regional Health was recently ranked by recognized by Forbes as a Best Employer; ranking #120 out of 500 top employers nationwide and is one of two local businesses on the list. Beyond her work with Rochester Regional Health, Kaitlyn is involved in several business advisory, workforce development and professional associations.
Corporate Recruiter - Wegmans Food Markets
Trisha has worked for Wegmans for 13 years. Trisha began her career at Wegmans as a front end cashier in 1997. After completing her bachelor’s degree in Political Science at SUNY Geneseo, Trisha briefly left Wegmans to work in Washington, D.C. for a lobbying firm. In 2004 Trisha returned to Rochester and began a position as a Recruiter for Burns Personnel, sourcing candidates for local manufacturing companies. Trisha returned to Wegmans in 2006 as a Corporate Recruiter, focusing on staffing the Information Technology and Asset Protection departments. In her current role she is responsible for sourcing, recruiting, hiring and retaining talent for these Wegmans departments. Headquartered in Rochester, New York, Wegmans Food Markets employs approximately 44,000 people and has 85 retail food stores throughout New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Virginia, Maryland, and Massachusetts.

Senior Recruiter - Hillside Family of Agencies
Melissa has been recruiting for 14 years, with the last 5.5 years at Hillside Family of Agencies. With approximately 550 hires per year at Hillside, she is responsible for delivering all facets of recruiting success through-out the organization. Her passion is to help ensure the agency is hiring the rightFIT! Melissa also serves as the agencies Internship Coordinator and makes approximately 100 internship placements per year through-out the organization. Melissa also owned her own staffing firm, OnPoint Staffing, Inc. providing flexible and permanent staffing solutions for hiring organizations and career management for professional’s through-out Rochester, NY. Melissa holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the State University College at Brockport. Melissa resides in Hilton, NY with her husband, two children and her beagle dog Hunter.
Entering his 13th season with the Buffalo Bills, Gregg Pastore is responsible for the digital strategy across all fan facing digital channels including buffalobills.com, all team branded social media platforms, email marketing, data collection, and various mobile and tablet properties. During the historic Buffalo Bills 50th season, Gregg developed a micro-site that won two Interactive Media Awards (Best in Class - Sports and Best in Class - Entertainment). A Sport Management graduate of Brockport, Gregg received the Outstanding Service Award from the College in 2014. Gregg and his wife Stacey have three boys, Tyler, Caden and Mason.
SPHR, Sr. Talent Management Recruiter - ESL Federal Credit Union
Katie is responsible for recruiting talent for all positions within the organization. Additionally she acts as a representative in various community outreach efforts including high school and college campuses, advisory boards, and various networking events. Katie has her Bachelor’s Degree from The College at Brockport and her Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management from Nazareth College.
Training Unit Coordinator - Police Bureau.
John graduated from SUNY Brockport in 2007 with a BS degree in Criminal Justice and Political Science. In 2011, he graduated from SUNY Brockport with a Masters in Public Administration with a concentration in criminal justice. He is an eight year veteran of the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office and is currently assigned to the Training Unit as the Training Unit Coordinator for the Police Bureau. John has also been a Firearms Instructor since 2011.
First Investors Corporation
Karen Zuchowski has been with First Investors Corporation since 2005. During her last semester at Buffalo State College she completed an internship with First Investors, and then has continued with the company in various recruiting roles ever since. Currently she is the Northeast Regional Recruiter. In this role she works directly with 6 different offices including Buffalo, Rochester, Binghamton, Albany, Boston, and Hartford to assist with their branding, college relations, and candidate hiring needs.
