2 pm - 3 pm Drake Memorial Library 30 Digital Measures Digital Measures is used for keeping track of your professional activities for tenure and promotion. This workshop will walk you through documenting activities, and uploading supporting documentation. Enter activities such as publications, presentations, performances, creative works, research, and service activities for the department, college, and community.  You can save yourself from entering all your activities during one of the busiest times of the academic year by logging in for just ten minutes, twice a month.

2 pm - 3 pm Drake Memorial Library 30 Create Accessible Materials in Microsoft Office Accessibility of your online content is a serious matter. Not all students with a disability or those requiring special services self-identify with the Student Accessibility Services office. Ally is a tool within Blackboard that uses a gage graphic to indicate how accessible your content is, and what needs adjusting in that content. By making your course content accessible, you provide all students with higher quality content for increased learning potential. In this session you will have an opportunity to ask questions about the Ally tool, and to increase the accessibility score for content of your choice using Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, etc.). This is an interactive session taking place in a computer lab.

2 pm - 3 pm Drake Memorial Library 30 Create an IceBreaker using VoiceThread Come and get an introduction to VoiceThread, a media player that incorporates a discussion space right within the video. Learn how to create an activity that promotes class community and help learning occur in “social context”. This is an interactive session taking place in a computer lab.

2 pm - 3 pm Drake Memorial Library 30 Host a Guest Speaker in Blackboard Collaborate Inviting a guest speaker is a mainstay in a face-to-face class. It can be more difficult to implement in an online class, but Blackboard Collaborate makes it easy. Blackboard Collaborate is an integrated tool for video conferencing. Come see how Blackboard Collaborate allows you to import PowerPoint slides, share your computer screen and/or a particular window with participants while interacting with students through chat, webcam, and microphone. This is an interactive session taking place in a computer lab.

2 pm - 3 pm Drake Memorial Library 30 Creating, Importing and Exporting Rubrics A rubric is an assessment tool listing evaluation criteria for an assignment. You can use a rubric to communicate the assignment requirements and acceptable performance standards. Rubrics can help ensure consistent and impartial grading. In this interactive session, participants will be able to create and edit a rubric in Blackboard and use the rubric to simplify the grading of assignments. You can attach rubrics to assignments submitted in Blackboard, to essay questions, discussion forums, or even any campus-based activities or requirements you want to grade, such as papers, special projects, presentations, practicums/labs, performances, etc. Rubrics can be individualized to fit your needs to make your grading more timely and efficient.

2 pm - 3 pm Drake Memorial Library 30 Fundamentals of Blackboard Grade Center Come learn the fundamentals of the Blackboard Grade Center. You will learn to create assignment columns and categories, configure percentages, and enter grades. Learn bonus lessons, including how to drop the lowest scored assignments and configure extra credit. Please bring your course syllabus to begin preparing your Grade Center during this session. This is an interactive session taking place in a computer lab.
