There are instances where you may be applying for a certification and you have NOT completed an Approved Teacher Preparation Program. In these cases, you will NOT submit a Recommendation Form or use a program code.
Professional Certification
An example of not needing to submit the Recommendation Form nor using a code is applying for Professional Certification if you DID NOT complete a graduate program leading to that certification.
Requirements
These must be completed within 5 years of the issue date of your Initial Certificate.
- Currently hold an Initial Certificate
- Earn a Master's Degree
- Complete three years of full-time teaching experience
- Have a mentored experience
- Complete DASA training
Applying for Certificate
First, log in and apply on TEACH Online Services. Once you see the screen below, you will have three options.
Option 1
If you completed a graduate degree at the College at Brockport tied to an Approved Techer Preparation Program that leads to the Professional Certificate for which you are applying, find your Program Code and enter it.
Option 2
If you completed a graduate degree at another college or university tied to an Approved Teacher Preparation Program that leads to the Professional Certificate for which you are applying, please contact that institution for further guidance.
Option 3
If you DID NOT complete a graduate degree tied to an Approved Teacher Preparation Program the leads to the Professional Certificate for which you are applying, check the "No, I have not completed..." box, and then click "Next." You will then be able to proceed with the application without needing a code.
