On behalf of The College at Brockport, State University of New York, and the university community, welcome to Commencement 2019.

This promises to be an exciting time as we celebrate the accomplishments of our graduates.

We will celebrate on Friday, May 17, and Saturday, May 18, 2019. During our ceremonies, we will recognize our students and highlight our tradition, College pride, and community spirit. We’re proud of our students, and we look forward to celebrating their achievements.

The graduate and undergraduate ceremonies will be streamed live on the College's website, so family and friends can join the celebration from anywhere in the world.

Commencement Speakers

Michael Doyle ’80 will deliver the Undergraduate Commencement addresses in two separate ceremonies on May 18. Doyle is the regional president and president of sales operations at Entercom, a leading media and entertainment company that reaches more than 170 million consumers each month across multiple platforms. Brockport alumna Bernice Skirboll ’72 will receive an Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters during the afternoon ceremony. Skirboll is the founder and former executive director/president of Compeer, Inc.

Gary Mervis ’71 will deliver the Graduate Commencement address at 5 pm on May 17. Mervis will also receive an Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters. Mervis is the chairman and founder of Camp Good Days and Special Times.

Special Ceremonies to Attend

In addition to the Undergraduate and Graduate Commencement Ceremonies, there are other ceremonies celebrated during the month of May, including: Military Science (ROTC) Commissioning Ceremony, Nursing Ceremony, Teacher Certification Ceremony, and more.

Application for Graduation and Tickets

If you plan on participating in a Commencement ceremony in May 2019, submit the Application for Graduation as soon as possible, and no later than April 5, for your name to appear in the Commencement program and to be eligible to claim guest tickets to the ceremony. (Tickets will be required for the undergraduate ceremonies and will be available online beginning April 15. Tickets are not required for the graduate ceremony.)
