Kowal has served as director since fall 2009, and previously as associate director since 2004. In addition to her work in the Honors College, she is an associate professor in the Department of Communication at The College at Brockport. Her areas of teaching and research expertise include rhetorical theory, rhetorical criticism, and political communication. Dr. Kowal is a recipient of the SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching.

Busch is the associate director of the Honors College since June 2016. In addition, he is also an associate professor of Early World Literature in the Department of English at The College at Brockport. His areas of scholarly expertise are biblical and classical studies. Teaching and creative interests include epic and tragic traditions, Roman imperial literature (esp. Seneca and Statius), Coptic Gnostic literature, and literary theory. Dr. Busch is a recipient of the SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching.
Ms. Andrea Vella
BS, The College at Brockport, 2015
Vella joined the Honors College in 2014. In addition to providing professional support for the program's administration, she works closely with students who utilize the services of the Honors College office. Ms. Vella is the recipient of The College at Brockport's Adele Catlin Memorial Award (2001) and Outstanding Service to the College Award (2008). The National Collegiate Honors Council has also recognized Ms. Vella for administrative excellence and her contributions to the Honors College (2017, 2018).
