About

Pamela Beach, Ph.D. is a Professor of Motor Behavior at SUNY Brockport. She was the coordinator for the kinesiology major from 2008 to 2020 and has coordinated internships and research experiences for kinesiology majors. Pamela was also the Director of the Summer Undergraduate Research Program (SURP) from 2019 to 2021, the Acting Director of the Honors College Fall of 2021 and the Acting Chair of the Kinesiology, Sport Studies, and Physical Education Department Spring of 2022. Dr. Beach is the Associate Director of the Honors College since 2020 and a Co-Founder and Co-Director of the Institute on Movement Studies for Individuals with Visual Impairments (IMSVI) since 2012.  Dr. Beach regularly publishes and presents nationally and internationally on her research in motor development and balance in individuals with sensory impairments. She has also published two editions of the undergraduate textbook Motor Learning and Development which has been widely adopted. She recently served on the American Kinesiology Association Board and is an active Brockport Lions Club member.
