Three-Year Scholarships and Two-Year Scholarships
Army ROTC offers students who have an interest in ROTC an opportunity to apply for three- and two-year scholarships during their freshman or sophomore year. Students have the opportunity to compete for a scholarship by showing their determination, character, motivation, physical fitness, and skills to ROTC Cadre.
How You Are Chosen
Selection of scholarship recipients is based on performance in academic studies, military science courses, Army Physical Fitness Test, observation by the Professor of Military Science and other ROTC Cadre, and demonstration of motivation toward an Army career. Those who are pursuing degrees in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics are increasingly preferred by the Army. Scholarships awarded by the ROTC program are merit-based.
Your ROTC Commitment
As a winner of a three-year or two-year scholarship, you are required to take ROTC classes each year. Upon graduation, you’re obligated to accept a commission and serve full-time in the Active Army for four years, and an additional four years in the National Guard, Reserves or Individual Ready Reserves.
