Bio: Dr. Nomvuyo Mahlangu is an advanced practice, professional nurse whose life passion is enhancing the lives of women and children globally. She has had an illustrious nursing career in her native land Zimbabwe, training nurse teachers and developing degree programs for registered nurses through distance and open learning methods for primary health care.
Dr. Mahlangu earned her doctorate in Health Practice Research at the University of Rochester and joins The College at Brockport, State University of New York as an Assistant Professor with a wealth of experience in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing.
Dr. Mahlangu is abreast with global health trends, particularly the thrust of HIV prevention for young women for now and the future. Her research focus in on the health of adolescent girls, understanding patterns of sexual abstinence and delay of sexual debut in order to enhance primary prevention of HIV.
