How and why did you decide to apply for The College at Brockport MPA program?

I chose Brockport's MPA program because it has the ability to help me reach my goals of advancing within an academic nonprofit organization.

What have you enjoyed most about the program so far?

My favorite part of the program so far has been the ability to apply in class material to my current job. For example, the summer I took Supervision Skills with Professor Alex Kralles I was able to apply the course material to better supervise student employees. Through gathering quantitative performance metrics and setting goals for them I instantly saw improvement in our work relationship and their performance as a result.

What does your job entail?

I diagnose, configure, repair and install computer hardware and software for faculty and staff. I also support lab computers, event and classroom technology. I also supervise, coach and mentor several student employees. My time is split between the MetroCenter and the Main Campus.

What are your future goals?

My future goals are to obtain a management position within an academic organization.
