How and why did you decide to apply for The College at Brockport MPA program?
I met an alumnus from the program who first introduced me to the degree. After looking into the program I felt it fit what I wanted out of my life much more than the previous ideas I had, so here I am.
What have you enjoyed most about the program so far?
I really enjoy how all of my professors have taken time to help me be successful in the program. I am also grateful to be around students who are just as motivated as I am. The environment of the program is close and supportive like a family.
What does your job entail?
My job is working with older kids with disciplinary problems at a school in the Rochester City School District to try and prevent them from getting suspended. I teach an alternative to suspension classroom where I give workshops and interact with the kids to try and teach them better decision making skills and how to better handle the situations that got them into trouble in the first place.
What are your future goals?
My future goals are to work my way up with the Center for Youth and eventually run my own non-profit doing something with children.
