Barbara Kasper

Barbara Kasper holds a BA in Social Welfare, from Antioch College, 1974; MA in Social Welfare Policy, from Goddard College, 1977; and an MSW with a concentration in Social Work Administration from Syracuse University, 1984. Her major areas of interest include feminist practice (particularly violence against women), migrant women farm workers, radical social work practice and community organization. She also is an activist both locally and nationally in the movement to end poverty. Professor Kasper teaches field instruction; HBSE I, Social Work Methods III, and an elective, Women's Lives. Professor Kasper is a founding member of the Women's Center and the faculty advisor to the Student Social Work Organization and has been involved in organizing such events as the Take Back the Night March, Rochester Slut Walk, and Reality Tours. She is a member of the National Steering Committee of the Social Welfare Action Alliance, an organization of progressive human service workers. She also co-chairs the Rochester SWAA chapter.
