Research Interests:

Broadly speaking, I am interested in collective memory, a subfield of cultural and historical sociology. My research investigates how and why the past gets remembered in the ways that it does. My current focus is on Irish national memory and how they have navigated the more difficult and challenging aspects of their past. My future work involves examining institutional memory and the social conditions that affect how institutions navigate difficult, reputation-damaging events.
