Dr. Orr has a BA in Economics from Rollins College. She received both her Master’s and PhD in Political Science from the University of Florida.

Her primary research interest is in the politics of organized labor in the US. She primarily focuses on how US labor law and politics shape the formation of labor unions, as well as how labor unions influence the behavior of their members. She is also beginning to delve into new research projects experiences promote active citizenship among students.

On campus at Brockport, Dr. Orr teaches classes in: American Politics, Political Parties and Interest Groups, Politics of Work and Labor, Political Science Research Methods, American Political Issues, Perspectives on American Democracy, and Perspectives on Citizenship.

Dr. Levy has a BA in Government-Public Policy from Pomona College. She received her Master’s in Public Policy from Georgetown University, and her PhD in Political Science from the University of Iowa.

Dr. Levy’s research centers on individual effects in the institutional setting of a legislature, including the effect of the increasing number of minorities and women in office on legislative output; whether institutional expectations of state legislative party leaders affect their tenure in office and the interaction of gender and electoral context on congressional campaigns.

On campus at Brockport, Dr. Levy teaches classes in: The American Presidency, Congressional Politics, American Political Systems, Political Science Research Methods, Campaigns and Elections, Issues in American Politics, Gender Politics.

Robert Walter has a BA and MA in Political Science from Ohio University.

Mr. Walter was the Assistant Director of Admissions for the Washington Semester Program at American University prior to coming to SUNY. He worked as a Program Director for the Washington Center for Internships & Academic Seminars for their Mass Communications Program and their Presidential Lecture Series. Prior to working in academia, Mr. Walter worked in political campaign consulting on a variety of legislative campaigns. He ran a state house race in Wisconsin, a state senate race in Missouri, and 4 Congressional campaigns in New York, New Hampshire and Washington State. He was also an intern in Washington, DC for the White House and on Capitol Hill after college.

Robert Walter works out of the Washington, DC office and manages the SUNY Washington Internship Program.

Dr. Powell has a BS in Biological Sciences from Ohio University. He received his PhD in Wildlife & Fisheries Sciences from Texas A&M University.

Dr. Powell's professional background includes a number of different positions with agencies and NGO's related to the ecology and conservation of endangered species, and has worked on these issues in places including New York, Maryland, Florida, Texas, and Mexico. After graduating from college, he was an intern in Washington, DC for two natural resource organizations, experiences he considers valuable in shaping his career path.

Dr. Powell works out of the Washington, DC office and helps manage all aspects of the SUNY Washington Internship Program.
