Students are responsible for applying and paying for housing independently. The SUNY Washington Program’s preferred housing option is with Washington Intern Student Housing (WISH), conveniently located on Capitol Hill near our office, Metro stations, and food and shopping options. Students who participate in our program receive a discounted rate for housing through WISH.

Apply Now: Fall/Spring    Apply Now: Summer

It is less than a half-mile walk from the housing to the US Supreme Court, the US Capitol Building, and the Library of Congress, and about a half-mile walk to our office and classroom space in the Hall of States Building, and two metro stations (Union Station, Capitol South). Because of the ease of transportation in and around D.C. by foot and use of the buses and metros of the DC Metro System, most students in our program do not choose to bring down a personal vehicle during their time here.  Bringing a car is possible, but parking and traffic can often be difficult.

WISH offers shared, fully-furnished housing on Capitol Hill that includes utilities and amenities, and you will be living with other students from the SUNY Washington program.  Although most of our students typically choose the WISH housing, some students choose to find housing with family or friends, or find another option for a variety of reasons.  That is perfectly fine and we are more than willing to help provide you some advice or options to consider should you go that route.

If you Apply for WISH Housing, please indicate on your application that you are with the "SUNY Washington Internship Program" to receive the program-related discount, and list Robert Walter as your "Campus Coordinator/Recruiter" on the application.
