Whether you want to join an intercollegiate team or take a dance class, Brockport has some of the best athletic and fitness facilities in the SUNY system. For daily exercise, our students have access to:

  • a 2,000 seat ice arena,
  • an Olympic-size pool,
  • weight and gymnastic rooms,
  • handball, racquetball, tennis and squash courts,
  • five gymnasiums, and
  • paths along the Erie Canal for biking and cross-country skiing

Special Events Recreation Center (SERC)

Our Special Events Recreation Center (SERC) is a venue for campus concerts, sporting events, commencements and community activities, with a 5,500-seat capacity. The facility includes an indoor track, fitness center and indoor throwing cage for shot put and discus. State-of-the-art fitness/wellness components comprise cardiovascular, free weights and strength-circuit training areas and a multi-purpose exercise room.

Health Center

Brockport's on-campus Health Center is staffed by registered nurses and nurse practitioners and offers:

  • Ambulatory Clinic for the treatment of injuries and minor illnesses
  • Women's Health Clinic
  • Preventitive Health Services, including physicals and immunizations
  • Nutritional Counseling
  • and many more options

The Health Center is open to all Brockport students and has walk-in hours Monday through Saturday. Student also have access to our Counseling Center.


Brockport is a safe and secure campus for students, faculty and staff. All University Police officers are certified police officers with full arrest powers. Officers not only patrol campus, but also provide safety education courses and training for students.

We have 47 blue light phones located throughout campus, which provide immediate access to University Police to report an emergency or request assistance.

University Police also offers a service where students can request an officer or Student Patrol member to escort them to their car or residence hall, any time of day or night, to ensure additional safety on campus.

Our Campus Safety Report includes crime statistics and provides information on Clery Act compliance.
