The Associate Director is responsible for collaborative leadership associated with all aspects of the admissions and recruitment process.
The Associate Director is responsible for collaborative leadership associated with all aspects of the admissions and recruitment process. The Associate Director plays a critical senior level leadership role within the Undergraduate Admissions office which encourages a spirit of teamwork, innovation, accountability and achievement among all staff. The Associate Director is responsible for six (6) direct reports while operating and maintaining the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software and digital communication plan.

Minimum Salary: $63,621
Work in collaboration with the Director of Undergraduate Admissions to manage the CRM Platform and web-based recruitment; including: (50%)
Day to day maintenance which includes:
Managing suspected duplicate records
Monitoring API scripts to assure seamless transition among various platforms
Assure attribute fields are accurate and up to date
Develop, maintain, and execute the digital communication plan. The digital communication plan includes email delivery, text messaging, surveys, and event invitations.
Assure leads are imported into the CRM in a timely manner. Lead imports can include:
SUNY Generated Leads
Lead Generation Services
Management and maintenance of the online CustomViewbook platform. Duties include:
Assure records are being imported accurately
Update content when needed
Rotate the design to keep content fresh
Generate CustomViewbook blasts
Maintain content on the Undergraduate Admissions webpage. Maintenance can include adding new content, updating documents, creating new links, updating forms/applications
Work closely with Marketing to assure proper exposure on all platforms of social media
Provide detailed reporting and assessment on a fixed annual basis
Utilizing all available means, work in collaboration with the Senior Leadership Team to achieve admission and enrollment goals outlined by the President and the Division of Enrollment Management and Students Affairs (Enrollment Management Committee), and College Senate. These goals include but are not limited to: (25%)
Enroll a freshmen class of 1,240 with a mean SAT score of 1100, mean high school average of 90, and a mean rank of 72% for regular admits. Maintain the Colleges status as a Tier 2 institution.
Enroll a transfer class of 950 with a mean GPA of 3.15
Minority recruitment to exceed goals of the incoming freshmen and transfer class.
Motivate staff to meet these goals
Maintain and streamline office systems and communication flow while maintaining a strategic mindset through the following:
Develop strategic communications, recruitment and admission plans
Continue to research and remain current with new enrollment/admission trends
Make improvements to admissions processes and procedures
Compile reports and access data to increase evaluation of results
Take on Enrollment Management level tasks as appropriate and directed by the Dir of Admissions
Work closely with the support staff to maintain the application and test download processes
Enhance the applicant/admit letter generation process
Working in collaboration with the Director of Undergraduate Admissions to implement, enhance, and maintain the unit’s lead generation initiatives and direct mail outreach: (15%)
This position requires the Associate Director to be a key member of the Undergraduate Admissions Marketing team. Through strategic planning and execute, the Associate Director will work closely with the Director to establish an effective direct mail campaign with a goal to:
Enhance expanded recruitment efforts in targeted areas within the State of New York as needed to achieve enrollment objectives
Expand recruitment efforts to the downstate region through increased on-and off-campus recruitment events and segmented communication
Increase focus on primary recruitment areas in Buffalo, Rochester, and Syracuse
Maintain a presence and monitor recruitment in other areas of NYS including: Southern Tier, Catskills, Adirondack region, and central NY.
Coordinate the print marketing campaign to closely align with digital messaging on all other platforms (mobile and web)
Strategically establish a diverse prospect pool through name purchases, lead generation, and other digital efforts
Provide mentoring, leadership, and supervision to advisors and admission assistants within the Office of Undergraduate Admissions: 10%

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited US Dept of Education or internationally recognized institution
Superior communication skills, both written and verbal;
Demonstrated successful professional experience illustrating progression of responsibilities in a communications-based field including a minimum of five years of professional experience;
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, time and resources;
Proven ability to cultivate relationships with secondary school and community college personnel.
Master’s Degree from an accredited US Dept of Education or internationally recognized institution
Significant admissions experience in higher education;
Experience designing, implementing, and assessing targeted recruitment activities for academic divisions, programs, and special student populations;
Experience providing strategic support for Banner software, document imaging, web technologies and electronic communications within the office;
The appropriate candidate will be competent with technology and CRM management, have strong administrative and operational skills and be a self-starter who works well independently as well as part of a team.
Demonstrated background and ability to manage, motivate, promote, and collaborate with professional staff
