Central Europe Summer Study Abroad Info. Meeting: Wed. Feb. 21, 3:30-4:30 pm (222 Seymour Union)
Faculty-led interdisciplinary program explores major cultural sites in Germany, Poland, and the Czech Republic. Includes internship and service learning project!
“Experiencing Culture & History in Central Europe” (June 2-26, 2018) will be co-led by Dr. Donna Kowal (Communication) and Dr. Barbara LeSavoy (Women & Gender Studies).
~ Excursions in Prague, Berlin, Krakow & Wroclaw--includes study tour of Auschwitz-Birkenau, the Berlin Wall, and other important memorial sites.
~ Explores the transformation of Central Europe in the aftermath of WWII, the Holocaust, Soviet occupation, democratization, and European integration.
~ Students participate in a cultural preservation and international reconciliation project in the Polish city of Wroclaw (formerly the German city of Breslau).
~ Satisfies Contemporary Issues Gen. Ed. requirement.
~ Includes four UNESCO World Heritage Sites plus hiking in the Czech mountains.
