Teacher Immersion Fellows Program Featured at National Conference

The Teacher Immersion Fellows Program is a regional collaboration of five area colleges and 13 Monroe County school districts recently showcased at the National Association for Professional Development Schools Conference (NAPDS).

The Teacher Immersion Fellows Program is a regional collaboration of five area colleges and 13 Monroe County school districts recently showcased at the National Association for Professional Development Schools Conference (NAPDS). Tracy Peterson, Director of Partnership Development and Field Experiences from the Professional Education Unit; David Leahy, Human Resources Supervisor from Hilton Central School District; and Shannon Alvarado, Supervisor from Monroe 2 Orleans BOCES presented a workshop session titled, “Strengthening Partnerships to Solve the Substitute Teacher Crisis: Evolution of the Teacher Immersion Fellows Program”.

The Teacher Immersion Fellows (TIF) Program provides the opportunity for both graduate and undergraduate students from The College at Brockport to substitute teach 1-5 days per week guaranteed and pays $100 per day. Students do not need to be in an education program to participate in this program. For additional information about the program, please visit the link below.
