Camp Abilities comes to Brockport June 24-30! Come and share the joy!
Camp Abilities is an educational sports camp for children with visual impairments or deafblindness held at The College at Brockport each summer. This summer will be the 23rd year of Camp Abilities at Brockport.
Camp Abilities is also a training site for future teachers, so our campers are paired with professional preparation students who learn through doing. We will have more than 25 of our students and more than 30 alumni at Camp! The sports that we will have during the week are tandem biking, track and field, swimming, goalball, beep baseball, gymnastics, fitness training, kayaking, basketball, canoeing, fishing, high ropes, horseback riding, rollerblading, and much more! Please see our schedule at the link below.
*Please note that track & field and beep baseball will be at the middle school, swimming and goalball will be at the high school, and biking and stand-up paddle board will be by the canal. (Parking lots D and C will be closed.)
This year, we will host visitors from Bangladesh, New Zealand, and Greece who will take the program back to their countries.
Thank you to everyone on campus who has helped bring this program together: our administration, KSSPE, BASC, Facilities, UP, Parking, and many other individuals in many departments. We could not do it without a team effort!
