From: Carey Hatch, Interim Sr. Associate Provost for Academic Services
Subject: Campus Open Access Policies
Our thanks to all who participated in the April 24 webinar on the open access policy adopted by the SUNY Trustees (available on the SUNY Open Access website (see link below) in March.
We had a good conversation about next steps required of both System and campuses as we move toward the collaborative development of campus-specific open access policies and the development by System of related resources. Two priorities emerged from the discussion: 1) that System would develop a sample project plan to serve as a resource guide for campuses in their work; and, 2) the need for additional professional development on open access generally and policy requirements.
Please join us for a webinar on Thursday, July 12, from 2 to 3 pm to discuss the progress made in both areas. The webinar will be recorded and posted on the OA website for those who cannot join.
Information about connecting to the webinar is below. Please don’t hesitate to contact me (firstname.lastname@example.org) or our Director of Communications and Academic Policy Development Cynthia Proctor (email@example.com) with questions.
