Distinguished Service Professor Lauren Lieberman Wins Service Award at the International Association for Education and Rehabilitation of the Blind Conference
The Virginia Sowell Service Award is given to a professional who contributes to the field in the area of multiple disabilities and/or deafblindness in education.
Lauren Lieberman from the Department of Kinesiology, Sport Studies and Physical Education won for her recent book, "Possibilities: Recreational Experiences of Individuals who are Deafblind" (see first link below), and for her research in this area. She also wrote a book "Physical Education for Children with Moderate to Severe Disabilities" (see second link below).
