Call for Proposals: American Democracy Project (ADP) Spring Speakers

ADP is seeking proposals for activities and speakers that foster a greater understanding of civic life and equip students with the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and experiences they need to be informed, engaged members of their communities.

We welcome input from our colleagues throughout the College on speakers, events, and other initiatives we should consider bringing to campus. As our mission is to engage students, we are particularly interested in funding proposals for speakers who will make a concerted effort to connect with an undergraduate audience. We are less interested in a formal academic lecture delivery and more inclined to fund speakers who adopt innovative/interactive/accessible presentation formats.

Our typical grant is about $2000, however ADP will consider making higher awards for proposals with significant merit — such as nationally recognized speakers. Proposals for smaller awards, perhaps to fund local/regional scholars are also encouraged. Collaborative and interdisciplinary grants are desirable, and applications that combine ADP and other sources of funding are welcome.

Proposals will be accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis. Visit the included link to view the proposal form and submit.
