Per our customary practice, we are curtailing services and operations and closing all college buildings except those supporting environmentally controlled research, absolutely essential services, or operations necessary for health, safety or security during the period starting Sunday, December 16, 2018 at 5:00 pm to Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at 7:00 am. The temperature in closed buildings will be set back to 55 degrees with periodic surveillance conducted to verify temperatures and physical condition. This action will result in notable savings on utility costs. Buildings that will remain open:

Alternative Work Location
The College strongly encourages employees to take leave during the shutdown but will provide an alternative work location for those who need to work.
The alternative work location for employees not choosing to take leave during this period will be in the Rakov Center. Employees who work at the alternative work site will be asked to perform appropriate work assignments at the Rakov Center. Employees who plan to work during this period at their own work site may do so with the permission of their supervisor. Employees needing an alternative work site must complete the form: Alternative Work Location, which can be found at our Web site -- www.brockport.edu/hr/ -- under forms/templates/miscellaneous: Alternative Work Location Form or at the close of this memo. Submit the form to the Office of Human Resources, along with a copy to your supervisor by Wednesday, November 28, 2018.
Wednesday, December 26, 2018 is a payday. All paychecks and payroll advices will be mailed to employees’ home address of record. If your address is incorrect, please change your address by logging into the self-service portal. The link is https://www.suny.edu/hrportal . For individuals who do not have computer access you may complete an address change form. The form can be picked up in the Office of Human Resources, 4th Floor, Allen Administration Building.

Group Events/Special Operational Requirements
If your department or office has scheduled a group event or has special operating needs during the shutdown period, please notify your vice president who will coordinate this with the Office of Facilities and Planning.
There will be limited campus mail pickup and delivery. Mailing Services will communicate a schedule to the campus prior to shutdown.
Your voice mail greeting should be changed to reflect the shutdown during this period. If you will be working at an alternative work location, your greeting should include the number where you can be reached and the hours you will be working. Remember also to update your voice mail greeting when you return to work following the campus closing or the end of the intersession.
Please unsubscribe from high traffic list servers when you will not be accessing e-mail over the break. E-mail builds up quickly and can adversely impact storage capacity and functionality.
