The Videographer/Photographer will capture engaging visuals that will help tell The College at Brockport’s story and effectively market the College and its academic programs to prospective students. This individual will work with a talented team of storytellers to identify stories and provide quality videography/photography that enhances them and engages target audiences. This individual will also proactively seek opportunities to visually document the beauty of the Brockport campus and surrounding village in a manner that is appealing to prospective students and their families. The Videographer/Photographer’s work will be used to strengthen the College’s social media and web presence, and to help create dynamic print pieces. This position will have the opportunity to manage and mentor student interns.
Shoot dynamic video content utilizing professional-level equipment.
Work in all aspects of the production process, from story boarding to pre and post production.
Edit video footage utilizing software such as Premiere Pro.
Produce engaging video stories in a strategic, cohesive and comprehensive manner. These stories will be utilized on social media and in The Port, the College’s news website and monthly (during the academic year) e-newsletter that is distributed to the College’s student, faculty, staff, and alumni.
Produce videos that effectively market the College’s academic programs.
Ensure to efficiently archive video footage.
Caption all videos to ensure accessibility.
Capture compelling still images using DSLR cameras.
Team with digital marketing colleagues to populate social media channels with rich photography.
Cover newsworthy events and people associated with the campus.
Supply photography as a contributor to The Port.
Provide studio photography.
Team with marketing and graphic design colleagues to supply imagery to enhance print projects, especially as it relates to undergraduate and graduate student recruitment efforts.
Ensure to efficiently archive photography.
Bachelor’s degree from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education recognized accrediting organization.
Minimum of two years experience producing professional videography and still photography.
Ability to showcase a dynamic portfolio of video and still imagery (please provide a link during the application process).
Demonstrate technical mastery of DSLR camera systems and lighting.
Ability to edit video/photo using software such as Premiere Pro, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Lightroom.
Excellent communication skills and meticulous attention to detail.
Demonstrate ability to plan and manage multiple projects, communicating throughout the production process.
Contributes to a positive work environment and work collaboratively as part of a team.
Extensive experience managing and organizing photo/video archives.
Drone photography experience and flying license.
Experience contributing to rich social media channels.
Experience working in environments where a quick turnaround time for video/photo is expected.
Knowledge of motion graphics and Adobe After Effects.
Strong written communication skills.
Working knowledge of HTML and CMS.
