Dr. Basil Tikoff from University of Wisconsin – Madison is presenting his study on the tectonic development of the Northwestern U.S. on Tuesday, February 12, at 6 pm in 103 Edwards Hall.
Presentation: The jagged western edge of North America: The profound influence of Precambrian rifting on subsequent mountain building

EarthScope is a program of the National Science Foundation that has deployed thousands of seismic, GPS, and other geophysical instruments to study the structure and evolution of the North American continent and the processes that cause earthquakes and volcanic eruptions. Dr. Tikoff is presenting his outstanding research using findings from the EarthScope project.
