Facilities and Planning, Office Assistant 2 - Stores/Mail, SG-09, Full-Time, Contingent/Permanent, 40 hours/ week M-F 7 am - 3:30 pm, Line # 00192

Salary:  $36,051

To be an eligible candidate for this position you must meet the Minimum Qualifications listed below.

This position supports The Stores/Mail office for Facilities and Planning.

Essential Functions:

Provides procurement assistance for Facilities & Planning. Will actively use the procurement card.

Provides computer input, manipulation and report generation for various electronic programs (such as PetroVend, Maximo, Energy Cap, Footprints, etc.)

Coordinates annual inventory requests.

Coordinates and supervises orders of Central Stores stock as required.

Coordinates the receipt of incoming articles for Facilities & Planning orders. Prepare written reports as required by Procurement and Payment Services and Facilities & Planning.

Coordinates the storage and redistribution of equipment and supplies.

Uses a variety of power and manual material handling equipment, and on occasion, a motor vehicle.

Performs and maintains manual and computerized physical inventory.

Provides all aspects of supervision as described in Occ. Code 251200, Office Assistant 2 job standards: 2 FTE Office Assistant 1s.

Minimum Qualification:

One year as an Office Assistant 1; or one year of permanent service in clerical or keyboarding title allocated to Grade 5 or higher and Candidate must have permanent appointment in an Office Assistant 2 (Stores/Mail) classified position (or be eligible for transfer) or be reachable for appointment on the current NY State Civil Service eligible list for Office Assistant 2 (Stores/Mail), full-time, Brockport location.

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior Facilities experience.

Prior Procurement and SUNY Procurement Card experience.

Exceptional attendance and work ethics.

Ability to work within a diverse environment.

Excellent accuracy, motivation, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills (verbal & written).

Demonstrated service oriented skills.

Experience in Microsoft Office.

Ability to be a leader and a self-starter.

Ability to work in a team environment as well a independently.

Prior supervisory experience.

Prior mechanical stores/receiving experience.

Operating Needs:

Qualified candidates for this position must have the ability to read and write.

Working Environment:

Work in a heated, air-conditioned office environment as well as at times in a warehouse environment. Frequent sitting, occasional standing, walking and bending. Normal range vision and hearing to use a computer and communicate in person and on the telephone. Frequent writing, speaking and problem solving. Moderate pressure and stress related to work functions.
