Blackboard Upgrade during Spring Break!
Brockport has been alerted that SUNY will be upgrading Blackboard to a new version on March 19 from midnight - 7 am. Our team has reviewed the changes in Brockport’s development site, and have found no issues that will hinder students or faculty.
Some highlights of new features and enhancements with upgrading to Blackboard Learn 9.1 Q2 2018
Record attendance in Blackboard Learn:
With this release, instructors can track attendance. In Learn courses, a gradebook column is added when the instructor begins taking attendance. The Attendance column provides the overall attendance score in the gradebook, where it can be included in the student’s overall grade.
Create Recording for Feedback:
An instructor or grader can create personalized feedback recordings for individual assessment attempts or manual gradebook items. Each recording can be up to 5 minutes long and can be both video and audio. The option appears in the third row of the Content Editor as a microphone icon.
The following feedback locations are supported:
• Graded Discussion
• Graded Wiki
• Graded Blog
• Graded Journal
• Feedback in a manual grade column
Students will see icons representing recordings that they can select to start streaming playback of the video on their computer or mobile device.
Instructor Mobile App Grading:
With this upgrade, faculty will now have the ability to grade assignments through the Instructor Mobile App.
