The College at Brockport student teaching candidates in the Childhood Inclusive Education Program participated in a workshop that was offered by Mr. Stephen Fiorino and Mrs. Kelly Malone at Hill Elementary School.

The College at Brockport student teaching candidates in the Childhood Inclusive Education Program participated in a workshop regarding the use of technology for classroom management offered by Mr. Stephen Fiorino and Mrs. Kelly Malone at Hill Elementary School.

Mr. Stephen Fiorino and Mrs. Kelly Malone, 4th grade teachers at Hill Elementary School, opened their classrooms and offered the workshop to student teaching candidates in the Childhood Inclusive Education Program. The two teachers demonstrated team-teaching, shared their experience and expertise in classroom management and the use of technology to enhance classroom management. In addition, they provided comprehensive resources and practical suggestions to the College’s student teachers. Mr. Fiorino has been invited to offer another workshop on creating a safe learning environment at the Student Teaching Mid-Semester Conference on March 22, 2019.

Many thanks are extended to Mr. Brandon Broughton, Principal of Hill Elementary School at Brockport Central School District, for opening the school to the College’s student teaching candidates. Special thanks are also extended to Mr. Keith Nobles, Coordinator for Specialized Academic Assessment of Professional Education Unit (PEU), and Ms. Dody Ballard, Secretary of PEU, for their support to make this professional development event happen.
