Join us on Wednesday, May 8, for the Purple Run 4(k) Change. Registration and pre-event activities start a 5:30 pm. The main event starts at 7 pm. All proceeds from the event are donated to Willow Domestic Violence Center.
In the United States, more than 1 in 3 women and more than 1 in 4 men will be in a violent relationship in their lifetime. Nearly everyone will be impacted by this type of violence in some capacity. The high occurrence of violence throughout the country reinforces the need for prevention programming at The College at Brockport and campuses everywhere.
Last year, more than 400 students, faculty, and staff participated in the Purple Run 4(K) Change, a 4K run and celebration developed by students to raise awareness against relationship violence. The Purple Run provided an opportunity for our community to participate in collaborative activities that inspire hope while building foundations for a healthy campus community. The pre- and post-race celebration will include refreshments, lawn games, interactive information tables, music, and a silent auction!
