The National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE)

The College at Brockport is participating in the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE), and we need your help to make the survey administration successful.

The National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) has been distributed. NSSE collects information on how students spend their time on activities researchers have determined matter for learning, and on how institutions meet students’ needs in terms of services. Generally speaking, survey results point to areas where colleges and universities are performing well and aspects of the undergraduate experience that can be improved.

Eligible first-year and senior students received an email invitation to respond to NSSE on Monday, February 17, and will receive additional reminders through March. The first reminder will be received on February 26. Eligible students may also find their survey invitation within Blackboard.

We ask that faculty or staff teaching courses for first-year and senior students simply announce that NSSE has been distributed. We also want to advise that student participation is entirely voluntary, that participation cannot be coerced, and that there be no undue influence.
