Professor Carvin Eison is quoted about the vandalism of a Frederick Douglass statue.

Professor Carvin Eison of the Department of Journalism, Broadcasting, and Public Relations appeared in national and international media including but not limited to the Washington Post, The Guardian, and on Monday.

Eison, who serves as project director for Re-Energizing the Legacy of Frederick Douglass Committee, discussed the vandalism of a Frederick Douglass statue at Maplewood Park in Rochester that occurred on the anniversary of Douglass's famous Fourth of July speech, "What to the Slave is the Fourth of July."

"They can topple over this monument. They could go topple over all of them. This monument will still stand because the ideas behind it are bigger than the monument," Eison said on
