Dr. LeSavoy, WGS, Gives Invited Lecture, Virtual NYI, St. Petersburg, Russia

Dr. LeSavoy, Associate Professor, WGS, gave an invited lecture, "Contested Memories: The Intimate Public & Technologies of Affect in Memorializing Holocaust Trauma" at the Virtual St. Petersburg Institute of Linguistics, Cognition & Culture (NYI).

Dr. LeSavoy was scheduled to travel to Russia in associated with her sabbatical research and was invited to teach a seminar at NYI in July 2020. NYI, held every July in St. Petersburg, Russia, was moved to a virtual format in response to the Covid-19 pandemic.

A large audience of students and scholars from around the globe attended Dr. LeSavoy's lecture via Zoom. Dr. LeSavoy's talk is part of a scholarly book chapter that she and faculty emerita Dr. Donna Kowal co-authored this year.
