REMINDER: Blend Until Smooth: Recipes for Hybrid Teaching & Learning Conference, April 14

You're invited to participate in conversations on the disciplinary challenges in the age of hybrid/blended courses with special guest Dr. Kelvin Thompson from the University of Central Florida.

The day will be filled with presentations and panel discussions that encourage conversations on hybrid/blended teaching and learning. The morning will start with the welcome remarks by Dr. Eileen Daniels. Our guest speaker Dr. Kelvin Thompson will give his feature keynote speech, "Finding Your Voice in the Noise: Conversations About Blended Learning," followed by the workshop "Hands-On Highlights from the BlendKit (Re)Design Process." Colleagues from The College at Brockport and five other institutions will lead presentations/panel discussions on the topics including, but not limited to, Tools for Engagement Project, international COIL courses, Wikis, Facebook, engaging adult learners, balancing the percentage of online and face-to-face sessions, refreshing online/hybrid teaching, and many more.

This conference is sponsored by SUNY Conversations in the Disciplines, The College at Brockport’s Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching, and the Department of Education and Human Development.

Dr. Kelvin Thompson

A popular speaker and facilitator, Dr. Thompson regularly addresses groups throughout the US on topics related to online/blended learning and educational technology while he serves as the Director of Online Design & Development Strategy for the University of Central Florida’s (UCF) Center for Distributed Learning. He has collaborated on the design of hundreds of online and blended courses over the past eighteen years. Kelvin developed the BlendKit Course open courseware as part of UCF’s Blended Learning Toolkit.
