Brockport Physics Student Presents Research at NY American Physical Society Meeting

Mayuka Sasaki, a senior physics major, recently presented the results of her summer research at the fall meeting of the New York State section of the American Physical Society.

Mayuka’s poster was titled “Development and Automation of an Ultra-High Vacuum System for Synthesis of 2-Dimensional Materials”, and resulted from a research project she did with Dr. Zachary Robinson in the Department of Physics. Mayuka has continued her research as part of the department’s yearlong Senior Seminar course, in which students do a research project alongside a faculty member. Mayuka's work was funded by the Richard V. Mancuso Undergraduate Research Award for the Summer of 2017. A picture of her poster can be found on the Brockport Physics twitter feed:
