Brockport Central School District hosted mock interviews for the College’s student teaching candidates in the Adolescence and Childhood Inclusive Education Programs
As a part of the partnership between The College at Brockport and the Brockport Central School District (BCSD), 23 administrators, teacher leaders, and teachers from BCSD and BOCES 2 hosted a mock interview professional development event for the College’s student teaching candidates in the Adolescence and Childhood Inclusive Programs on Dec. 7 at Oliver Middle School. Two candidates from the Physical Education Program who student teach at BCSD also attended this event. This event offered the College’s student teaching candidates an exceptional opportunity to practice their interview skills, receive constructive feedback and suggestions, gain confidence, and build on interviewing experience for professional positions.
Heartfelt thanks go to the colleagues from BCSD and BOCES 2, who posed as the interviewers in the mock interview event. In addition, special thanks go to the BCSD administrators, especially Dr. Lesli Myers, Superintendent of BCSD schools, for her support and leadership in this professional development event. It is evident that BCSD is an excellent district with committed professionals!
Many thanks are extended to Ms. Lisa Montanaro, Instructional Coach at Oliver Middle School and Liaison of the BCSD and College’s partnership; Ms. Suzanne Goff, Director of Teacher and Student Success at BCSD; Ms. Tracy Peterson, Director of Partnership Development & Field Experience; Ms. Shelly Smith, Coordinator of Field Experience; and Dr. Janka Szilagyi, Chair of the Department of Education and Human Development, for their support in making the events happen! It took the whole team’s collaborative efforts to make these professional development events successful and beneficial to our student teaching candidates!
