Office Assistant 1 (Keyboarding) Vacancy in Registration and Records
The Office Assistant 1 (Keyboarding) for the Office of Registration and Records answers questions from and provides information to various parties regarding transactions and procedures; operates various communications systems such as telephones and computers; provides customer service for the office, and performs routine processing activities. This position has primary responsibility for printing and mailing of transcripts. This is one of the core functions of the office.
•Coordinates the printing of academic transcripts.
•Enters approved grade changes into the Banner student information System.
•Scans and indexes documents in the Banner document management system.
•Provides daily telephone and registration counter service.
•Processes in-person, faxed and/or mail-in registrations and prints course schedules.
•Processes Independent and Directed Study applications and other special registration materials.
•Responds to students and staff inquiries regarding admissions, separations, obligation statuses, leave of absences, registrations, add/drop/withdrawal deadlines, course offerings and enrollment statuses.
•Troubleshoots registration discrepancies - notifies students of the result.
•Provides a variety of backup such as mail, transcript processing, deposits and grade maintenance.
•Indexes documents for current students as well as historical documents for the Retro Imaging Project.
•Processes registration adds/drops/withdrawals within prescribed time frames and published deadlines.
Candidates must have permanent appointment in an Office Assistant 1 (Keyboarding) classified position or be reachable for appointment on the current NY State Civil Service eligible list for Office Assistant 1 (Keyboarding) full time – Brockport location.
•Knowledge of Forms Banner and Microsoft Office.
•Ability to process in-person registrations standing at a counter.
•Ability to work under pressure.
•Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently.
