Testing Assistant Part-Time Employment Opportunity

Testing staff work in collaboration with the resource center librarian, Admissions Office, Registrar, and Academic Departments to test qualified applicants and refer them for consideration to applicable programs, certification or degrees.

Local Title: Testing Assistant 

Budget Title: Staff Assistant 

Position Description

Test applicants for NYS Task Exam including special accommodation requests 

Assist with developing testing contract specifications and submit criteria to the Dean and NYS 

Abide by all NYS regulations and policies pertaining to the operation of testing center policies (ID Verification, Computer Spacing, Exam Accuracy, No Electronic Devices)

Signing documents to serve as evidence that all testing center staff members know their contractual obligations to follow established procedures.

Developing REOC annual Testing Schedule and budget

Scheduling tests to meet the needs of the center and local community

Administering Research Foundation's contract for NYS Department of Education

Ordering, receiving and validating all testing materials.

Inventorying all testing material and return to appropriate Testing Vendor at appropriate due dates.

Securing regulation trained staff to assist with the administration of examination

Entering data and retrieving information via reporting documents.

Attend/participate in mandatory training

Maintaining security of testing materials

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from a nationally accredited college or university

Database experience 

Ability to conduct frequent, surveillance monitoring during test sessions

Ability to lift 35 pounds (testing materials)

No conflict of interest pertaining to academic instruction at or during the time of appointment

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in teaching, training, counseling, and / or testing

Demonstrated skill working with diverse populations
