International Women's Day, Thursday, 3/8, Women's History Month Film, Viktoria, Little Theatre, Rochester, NY

Join us this Thursday, March 8, International Women's Day, for the screening of Viktoria (Maya Vitkova, 2014), 6:30 pm, Little Theatre, East Ave, Rochester, NY.

Unwanted by her mother, Viktoria is born with no umbilical cord and doesn't need her mother, Boryana, until the hardships of life bind them together. NPR says: "a powerful maternal melodrama spanning three generations of implacable women bound by blood, spilled milk and the tumult of a world in transition." The New Yorker adds: "A great film about women, by a woman."

Viktoria is screened as part of the Women's History Month Film Series, "Women who Fight," with screenings throughout the month of March. The series is a collaborative effort organized by WXXI Little Theatre, the University of Rochester's Susan B. Anthony Institute for Gender, Sexuality, and Women's Studies, and Women and Gender Studies at Brockport. See attached flyer for all films screened as part of the series.
