NetID password resets will also update Banner PIN
In efforts to further migrate Banner logins to Single Sign-On, NetID password updates will now also update the Banner PIN with the NetID password. If you are comfortable with the differences between Banner PIN and the NetID password, your credentials will remain as is, until such time as you update your NetID password. Starting April 4, NetID password resets will also update the Banner PIN.
This will also hopefully mitigate the Banner advisor-student login confusion by making Banner PIN equal to the NetID password. For those students and faculty logging into Banner via SSO (Single Sign-On), they can forget what their old Banner PIN is. And that can cause issues when advisors require the student to log into Web Banner Self-Service with the Banner PIN when advising them during Pre-Registration period. Now students can change their NetID password and this will also update their Banner PIN, without them having to know their old Banner PIN, or using the "Forgot PIN" option on the old, non-SSO Banner login.
Reminder, students (or faculty) should never give out their Banner PIN (or NetID password) to another student or faculty. You should enter the credentials yourself when needed during the advising process.
