EOP Summer Program is seeking a Computer Skills Professor
Position: GEP 150 - Computer Skills Preparation, Instructor in the EOP Summer Program
GEP 150 is a developmental, non-credit bearing course that introduces EOP pre-freshmen to computer skills topics and prepares students through hands-on experience to complete specific tasks they may encounter during the upcoming academic year. Upon successful completion of this course, students should have a basic understanding of the following:
Students will strengthen their computer skills.
Students will develop and demonstrate their understanding of how to access and navigate the various resources of Blackboard to aid in their understanding and efficiency of accessing information (i.e. syllabus, course assignments) and communicating (i.e. notifications from professors discussing assignments) with the various academic communities to be informed of their academic responsibilities and changes that may occur within courses.
Students will become knowledgeable of and familiar with the software tools/features associated with Microsoft Word and demonstrate their understanding of how to incorporate them effectively into their writing.
Students will develop and demonstrate their understanding of how to set up and manipulate data within an Excel spreadsheet.
Students will develop and demonstrate their understanding of how to effectively construct a PowerPoint presentation.
Students will develop and demonstrate their understanding of how to create a simple web page using XHTML.
Desired Qualifications: Master’s degree in computer information systems or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications: The ideal candidate would have experience working in a diverse environment with students representing a variety of backgrounds.
