The Department of Public Health and Health Education at The College at Brockport, State University of New York invites applications for a full-time, 10 month Lecturer position in Public and Community Health.
• Teach a 4/4 course load in health education (methods), and health content which include, but are not limited to: Health Education Methods (undergraduate), Foundations of Health Education, Introduction to Public Health, Applied Biostatistics, Nutrition, Environmental Health, Epidemiology, Research Methods in Health.
• Engage in student advisement.
• Serve on committees at the departmental, school and college levels.
Master’s degree in school, community, or public health education, or related discipline (e.g. health psychology, health promotion, public health) by the time of appointment from a college or university recognized and accredited by the U.S. Department of Education; ability to teach health education methods and health content courses; and, demonstrated potential for increasing the diversity of the curriculum, student body or faculty through teaching/mentoring.
College teaching experience; certified or Master Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES or MCHES) or health education teacher certification; previous teaching experience preferred in both land based and online courses; familiarity with CEPH, NCHEC, SHAPE, CAEP, NYSED competencies/standards; experience in administration/committee management; and, experience in academic advisement.

Salary, Benefits and Appointment
Competitive salary commensurate with experience. We offer an excellent benefits package that includes medical, dental, life, and vision insurances, retirement, and healthcare and dependent care savings accounts. This non-tenure track position will offer an initial 1 year contract followed by a 2 year contract and subsequent 3 year renewable contracts based on performance. Position is available August 2019.
