Introduction

Using the online Faculty & Staff Directory is an easy way to find official contact information. Public directory information is available to all Web users, on-campus and off-campus. Public directory information includes honorific, name, title, department, office location, phone and e-mail.

For conducting business with the College, it is usually best to contact the office or department, not a specific person. You can find a list of offices and departments through the Department Index. A department link in the Faculty & Staff Directory will take you to the corresponding entry in the Department Index. Fax numbers are available by clicking the department link.

A student directory is not available at this time.

How to Search the Directories

The directory can be searched in four ways:

The search box has a drop-down list that allows you to select how you want to search.

Search by Name

To search by name:

  1. Make sure the "Search by:" says "Name".
  2. Type the person's first and/or last name into the "Search for:" field. For best results, type some portion of both names. Searching for "h doe" will return better results than "henry" or "doe" alone.
  3. Click the "Search the Directory!" button.

A list of names, both first and last, that have similar spellings will be presented.

If you are not certain of a spelling, just enter the first few letters and a list of possible matches will appear.

Search by Department

For best results, consider using the Department Index instead. To search the Faculty and Staff Directory by department:

  1. Change the "Search by:" drop-down list to "Department".
  2. Type the department name into the "Search for:" field.
  3. Click the "Search the Directory!" button.

If your name is not an exact department match, another box will appear on the first page of search results that list the matching departments. If there is no department match, then it will list every department. To further refine your search, you can select the department you want and click the "Search the Directory!" button.

A list of all the people assigned to that department in the directory will appear.

Search by Phone Number/Extension

To search by phone:

  1. Change the "Search by:" drop-down list to "Phone".
  2. Enter the phone number in the "Search for:" field.
  3. Click the "Search the Directory!" button.

A list of everyone who is assigned to that number in the directory will appear.

Note: You need to enter only the last four digits of the phone number if you the number is an on-campus extension.

Search by E-mail Address

To search by e-mail address:

  1. Change the "Search by:" drop-down list to "E-mail".
  2. Type the e-mail address into the "Search for:" box.
  3. Click the "Search the Directory!" button.

Information for the person associated with that e-mail address will appear, if the e-mail address is in the directory.

Note: If searching for a brockport.edu e-mail address, you only need to enter the NetID portion of the e-mail address to obtain the match.

How to Update Your Directory Information

  1. Log in to the SUNY Secure Portal.
  2. Once in the portal, click the link for "Human Resources Self Service".

  3. Answer the validation question, then you will see a screen where you can update any of your personal information.
  4. Depending on what information you wish to change/update, you may need to click a link to fill out and submit a form, otherwise, you may be able to make your change right in the screen.

If you are unable to sign into the directory, you need to contact your HR office to update your directory information. State employees can fill out a Directory Information Change Form.
