Bachelor’s Degree

Applicants must have earned a bachelor's degree prior to beginning graduate study.


A GPA of 3.0 or higher (based on 4.0 scale) is expected for admission. If your GPA is less than 3.0, please contact the graduate director of your program of interest for advisement prior to applying.

Official Test Scores (GRE, GMAT, MAT, TOEFL, IELTS).

GRE is required for Psychology and Nursing.

Due to developments specific to the Coronavirus and the closing of test sites across NYS and beyond, applicants to SUNY Brockport's MA Psychology and MS Family Nurse Practitioner programs are advised to click on the relevant program link for additional application test score guidance.

Applicants applying to programs leading to teacher certification must submit one of the following (please review our Programs Requiring GRE/MAT page):

International applicants (all graduate programs): Must provide proof of English language proficiency. Options for doing so include meeting minimum score requirements on the TOEFL or IELTS.
