International Applicants - Additional Documents

WES Course-By-Course Credential Evaluation.

International applicants must secure (at the student’s expense) a WES Course-By-Course credential evaluation for all foreign transcripts and related academic documents.

An official copy of that WES Course-By-Course credential evaluation must be submitted directly to The College at Brockport at the following address:

A credential evaluation is only considered official if it is received by The College at Brockport still sealed in the original WES envelope.

*International applicants interested in utilizing a credential evaluation service other than WES should first contact the Center for Graduate Studies at gradadmit@brockport.edu to confirm the appropriateness of that alternate service.

Official copies of your transcript(s), in English.

A transcript is only considered official if:

  • It is received by The College at Brockport still sealed in the original University envelope and signed over the seal by the University or
  • The transcript is sent directly from WES to The College at Brockport.

All official transcripts should be sent to The College at Brockport at the following address:

Please note that we must receive a transcript from every university you’ve attended.

Proof of English language proficiency

Proof of English language proficiency can be satisfied by any one of the following:

  • TOEFL - A minimum score of 79 on the TOEFL iBT version or a minimum score of 550 on the paper-based version is required. An official TOEFL score report must be submitted to the Center for Graduate Studies at The College at Brockport as proof. (College code 2537).

  • IELTS - Minimum score of 6.5 is required. An official IELTS score report must be submitted to the Center for Graduate Studies at The College at Brockport as proof.

  • Completion of ELS level 112. An official ELS transcript or ELS level 112 certificate of completion must be submitted to the Center for Graduate Studies at The College at Brockport as proof.

  • Applicants whose native language is English or who completed a college degree where the primary language of instruction was English are encouraged to contact the Center for Graduate Studies at gradadmit@brockport.edu to discuss the English language proficiency requirement as it can be waived in these circumstances.

If an applicant is not able to provide TOEFL or IELTS test scores that meet the minimum score requirement, or proof of having already completed ELS level 112, that applicant can enroll in an ELS program to satisfy the English language proficiency requirement. The College at Brockport does host an ELS Language Center on campus. Conditional admission to a Brockport graduate program may be offered based on the completion of ELS level 112. In such a case, the student may be offered admission to a graduate program at The College at Brockport, but is not permitted to begin his/her graduate program until level 112 is complete.

Admission to the ELS program requires an application separate from The College at Brockport graduate application. More information on the Brockport ELS Language Center, including application details, can be found at www.brockport.edu/international/els.html.
