Katie Cariola is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of New York. She obtained her master’s degree in counselor education from Canisius College, where she also studied psychology and criminal justice as an undergraduate. Katie joined the staff of The College at Brockport Counseling Center in August 2011. Prior to joining the College at Brockport community, she worked in various levels of mental health care, including a partial hospitalization program and outpatient clinics. It was in the outpatient setting where she specialized in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), facilitated many DBT groups, treated clients individually with varying psychaitric concerns and struggles, and provided clinical and administrative supervision to other mental health professionals. Katie is a generalist in practice, and her clinical interests include grief and loss, body image concerns, depression, anxiety, and relationship/interpersonal concerns. In her spare time, she enjoys being physically active and spending time with her family and their two dogs.
