12:30–4 pm

Eagle’s Lookout, SERC

The Summit is a leadership workshop specifically designed for students who are in leadership positions within on-campus organizations. Through The Summit, students will have the opportunity to explore their personal leadership style, engage in outdoor leadership activities, and build skills and strategies needed to effectively run their organizations.

This event is FREE and located in the SERC, on the Brockport campus. The program will run from approximately 12:30 pm to 4 pm. Lunch will be provided by BASC. Space is limited to the first 30 student organization officers to register.

Each breakout session will be dedicated to one of the following topics:

Marketing & Advertising: Will explain how to market and brand your organization using resources to reach audiences on campus and off campus.

Engaging with the Community & Community Service: Explore how you and your organization can engage in your community. Learn what roles you take on and how you can have an impact on your society.

SWOT Analysis: A study undertaken by an organization to identify its internal strengths and weaknesses, as well as its external opportunities and threats.

Club Transitions (Elections) and Budgeting: Learn how to help your organization build momentum year after year by utilizing some strategies for a well-structured budget and successful officer transition practices.

SMART Goals: Focus on creating S.M.A.R.T. goals, both individually as a leader and overall as a student organization. We will help you break down the steps needed to achieve your organization’s goals this semester.

As a result of the Summit, you will be able to:

• Identify your strengths, weakness and personal philosophy as an organization leader
• Recognize successes and areas of improvement from the previous semester
• Recognize principles of stewardship within your organization
• Identify effective strategies to effectively execute a transition of club officers
• Identify Brockport resources and establish relationships with other student organization leaders

The Summit is sponsored by Brockport Student Government, Student Union and Activities, Campus Recreation and Community Development.
