This one-week program in Mexico is a meaningful way for students to spend their winter break. This program will help children and families living in poverty in Mexico and includes service projects such as working with schools and orphanages, building homes, disaster relief efforts, and supplying necessary materials to organizations. Students will gain cultural awareness and feel a sense community from intensely interacting with and learning from the local population.
Date: 1/12/2018 – 1/20/2018
The purpose of this trip will be to strengthen students' awareness of Cuban culture, interact with residents in Havana and the surrounding countryside, and engage in meaningful community service that will provide a deeper understanding and appreciation of the country. An extensive itinerary will include a variety of experiences all designed to introduce students to Cuba and foster connections with residents.

This service learning program is an examination of the social context of Grahamstown, South Africa, and opportunities for positive social change through youth empowerment. Students in the program will critically examine the importance of participation and the role of community youth in creating positive social change in Grahamstown. Students will interact with Inkululeko youth to identify and create responses to community issues that contribute to community and nation-building, reconciliation, and reconstruction.
