Applying For On-Campus Housing 2014-2015


General Housing Information

The housing agreement is binding for the entire academic year - August 2014 through May 2015.

A housing deposit is required to enter the online housing application. This $100.00 housing deposit is payable to "SUNY Brockport" at the Office of Student Accounts either in person, via check, or via phone (585-395-2473). One business day after your Advance Housing Deposit is processed at Student Accounts, you will be able to access the online housing application below. (EOP students receive housing waivers and will be able to access the application).

If you do not fill all the spaces in your room/suite with mutually requested and confirmed roommates/suitemates, we may assign the space(s) to a new incoming student. This also applies to spaces that may become available during the summer.

Freshmen live with other freshmen in first-year dedicated halls. Many freshmen select Living Learning Community options. Transfers may live with other transfers or current Brockport students in upperclassmen halls.

The Student Townhomes have a separate selection process that occurrs in February and is available for Juniors and Seniors only. If you are interested in the Student Townhomes, please see the information about the waiting list, at the bottom of this page.

This application is for incoming freshmen students applying for on-campus housing for 2014-2015.

Monday, March 3rd 2014: Online Housing Application will be availiable.

June 1st at 11:59pm: We encourage you to complete the Online Housing Application for best consideration of your preferences.

July 11th at 4pm: Deposit Deadline at Office of Student Accounts (585-395-2473).

July 13th at 11:59pm: Application Deadline (last day to edit your roommates).

Late July/Early August 2014: Housing assignment information will be emailed to you.

 

Extended Housing for Freshman and Freshman LLC Students:

All Residence Halls will be open the entire academic year (August- May) with the exception of the two week campus shutdown during winter recess. If you anticipate needing housing during the two week campus shut down, please email housing@brockport.edu. We will have an option for you.


First-Year Living Learning Communities (LLC)

Living Learning Communities have proven to increase retention and academic success by facilitating your integration into campus life and your connection to faculty in your intended major. The College at Brockport is providing fifteen (15) Living Learning Communities specifically designed for first-year students.

The additional LLC questions, on the application, are for freshmen students interested in applying for one of the fifteen (15) Living Learning Communities. The 2014-2015 LLCs include: Brockport Global Village, Green House, Leadership & Community Service, Mathematics & Physical Sciences, Nursing Intent, Biological Sciences & Psychology, Yellow Ribbon, Teachers of Tomorrow, Creative Artists, Future Health Professionals, Recreation & Fitness, Honors House, Law and Civility, Perspectives on Humanity, and Academic Exploration.

Wednesday, February 12 2014: Online Housing Application will be availiable

April 11th: Deadline to request to live with a current Brockport student, please make sure you both email housing@brockport.edu by April 11, 2014 AND request each other on the application.

Current Student Housing Application

 

This application is for current Brockport students applying for on-campus housing for 2014-2015. 

If you do not fill all the spaces in your room/suite with mutually requested and confirmed roommates/suitemates, those spaces may be chosen by other current students, or we may assign the space(s) to a new incoming transfer student. This also applies to spaces that may become available during the summer.

Select floors will be reserved in the halls for programmatic housing such as Living Learning Communities. Students interested in participating in this year's LLC's for returning students may contact llc@brockport.edu or check out the LLC website at www.brockport.edu/llc for more information. 

Steps:

  1. Pay Your Deposit! (If you don't you will not have access to the application)
  2. Find People to Live With! (Please remember to confirm all roommates/suitemates)
  3. Fill out the Housing Application (found below)!
  4. On April 21st @ Noon, sign back into the application to find out your selection time. (selections will be based on class status).
  5. At your selection time/date, please once again sign back into the housing application to pick your building, floor, and room. Only one person needs to sign in to the application, as that person's selection will pull in all reciprocal roommate/suitemate requests. *Please note: The Office of Residential Life/Learning Communities does not encourage students to skip academic responsibilities to choose their Fall assignments.
  6. Please Note: All Students in the packet must complete an application AND confirm their roomates/suitemates.

Before You Begin the Online Housing Application

  • You will need to know your Student ID number (800xxxxxx) in order to access the application site.
  • You will need to wait one business day after your tuition/housing deposit is received to access the housing application through your user account.
  • Please read and understand our Residence Hall License.
  • If you are requesting a specific roommate, you will need their Student ID number (800xxxxxx).
